Mr.
Weart has had more than 40 years experience in logistics
and transportation. He has held senior management positions
with companies ranging from a consumer goods manufacturer
to a leading software firm as well as an agency of the Department
of Transportation. His resume includes management posts
with motor and rail carriers as well as other transportation
service providers.
Most
recently, he functioned as Communications Manager for the
leading 3PL trade association, handling all media relations
and editing both a weekly electronic newsletter and monthly
paid advertising 32 page hard copy magazine.
He taught as
the Monfort Executive Professor-Logistics, Monfort School of
Business Administration, University of Northern Colorado as
well as having taught at several community colleges He
is currently the Transportation Advisor for DRCOG and is
member of the CDOT Freight Advisory Committee.
He is active in Scouts as a Merit Badge
Counselor and
participates in events where he can assist Eagle candidates
achieve their goal.
Mr.
Weart was a member of the faculty of the Institute
of Logistics Management and was initial author of the
textbook "Motor Carrier Operations".
Mr.
Weart was Bureau Chief for a weekly transportation news
magazine and a features editor for a monthly logistics magazine.
He has authored nearly 200 bylined pieces as well as part of several college level texts.
He is a member of the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals
and the Denver Transportation
Club.
